Job Description: Database Site Reliability Engineer
Oracle is hiring a Senior Database Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support, optimise, and scale its cloud-based database platform. This role blends database engineering with site reliability principles to ensure high availability, performance, and resiliency of Oracle’s database services.
As a Senior Database SRE, you will work closely with engineering, operations, and cloud teams to automate database operations, improve system reliability, and handle complex production issues. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high availability, reliability and performance of large-scale database systems
- Monitor the database platform and proactively identify performance or stability issues
- Automate routine database operations using scripts and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Handle incident response, root cause analysis, and preventive remediations
- Collaborate with development teams to design scalable and flexible database architectures
- Optimise database performance, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategies
