About Internship:-
IIT Mandi offers a summer internship programme designed to introduce undergraduate and postgraduate students to research, motivating them and encouraging interest in careers in academics and scientific research.
This is a one to two-month residential programme that provides practical research training along with exposure to different hardware and software analytical tools.

Eligibility – IIT Mandi Summer Internship 2026

Programme Eligibility	The programme is open only to candidates from institutes/colleges/universities that have signed an MoU with IIT Mandi.
Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering/Technology)	Only pre-final year students (3rd year) are eligible to apply.
Postgraduate Students	Only pre-final year postgraduate students are eligible to apply.

IIT Mandi Summer Internship 2026 – Important Guidelines

S.No.	Details
1	Pre-final year B.Tech./B.E. students and postgraduate students are eligible to apply.
2	Interns will work under the mentorship of IIT Mandi faculty members in various research areas.
3	Applicants should visit the IIT Mandi official website to explore the research areas of faculty members.
4	Candidates must specify the proposed research area of the potential supervisor in their application.
5	The duration of the summer internship is one to two months.
6	Selected interns will receive financial support of ₹10,000 per month.
7	Travel and living expenses must be borne by the interns themselves.
8	Screening of applicants will be conducted by the respective schools/centres based on their credentials.
9	Shortlisting and selection criteria may vary across different schools and centres.
10	Selected candidates must arrange a Letter of Recommendation or NOC from their respective institute.
11	The minimum internship duration is 1 month, and the maximum is 2 months.
12	Selected students will be notified by email.
