Architecture and Engineering Job Description 

Seeking a seasoned Senior Director of Architecture and Engineering adept in PC, Tablet, and Print stacks. Collaborate with product management head to design tailored solutions for India’s untapped markets. Oversee hardware, OS, and software stack development, including API integration and subscription models. Lead both direct and indirect development teams.

Responsibilities for Architecture and Engineering

1 . Lead the end-to-end architecture, from silicon to OS and apps for all solutions. Conduct research to assess      optimal architectures, operating systems, and development languages. Ensure robust testing for mass deployments.
2. Ensure timely delivery of all HP development programs meeting performance, schedule, quality, and cost goals within budget.
3. Enhance product development process by managing internal and external resources using diverse development models.
4. Strategically manage and optimize engineering budgets to align with product management priorities.
5. Develop and execute strategies for continuous improvement of engineering capabilities.
6.  Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders and influence decision-making in a complex organizational setting.
7. Foster an innovative culture that encourages out-of-the-box thinking.
8. Own the technology roadmap aligned with business and product strategy.
9.  Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs, ensuring appropriate resource allocation.
10. Develop the team to meet evolving business needs with modern engineering services.
11.  Drive organizational change through championing best practices and continuous improvement.
12. Collaborate with various departments to communicate program status, escalate issues, and guide strategic decision-making.
13. Manage senior relationships and escalated issues with outsourced partners and suppliers.
14.  Provide comprehensive people-care management for direct reports, including hiring, performance monitoring, coaching, and career development.

Qualifications for Architecture and Engineering

. Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Preferably Electrical Engineering) or related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
. Minimum 15 years of experience in PC, Mobile, communication, or consumer electronics industries, with at least 10 years in people management roles.
. Proficiency in in-house, JDM, and ODM development models.
. Strong business acumen coupled with comprehensive engineering, manufacturing, product development, financial, and commercial knowledge.
. Exceptional leadership skills encompassing coaching, team building, and conflict resolution.
. Operations executive well-versed in product development best practices.
. Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
. Deep understanding of the Indian market and customer needs, with a track record of successful product development.
. Familiarity with HP’s products and services is advantageous.
. Entrepreneurial mindset is crucial, with the ability to strategize and execute in an ambiguous environment.
