DESIGNATION: Developer Of Microsoft SQL Server Application

• Project Role Description :Design, build and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements.

• Must Have Skills : Developer of Microsoft SQL  Server Application

Key Responsibilities :

A: Promote service improvements on an ongoing basis to continually improve the quality of services delivered and customer satisfaction

B: Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution relating to current applications

C: Must monitor the incidents to ensure that the Service Level Agreement are respected

D: Provide support to the business during day to day activities and ad-hoc requests

Database Developer:

• Designing and creating the database schema.
  Writing SQL queries and stored procedures to interact with the database.
  Optimizing SQL queries for performance and efficiency.
  Implementing security measures to protect the data.
  Collaborating with application developers to ensure the database meets application requirements.

Application Developer:

• Designing and developing the application that interacts with the SQL Server.
  Writing code to connect to the database using APIs or ORM (Object-Relational Mapping) frameworks.
  Ensuring data consistency and integrity within the application.
  Implementing error handling for database interactions.

Database Administrator (DBA):

• Installing and configuring the SQL Server software.
  Monitoring and optimizing the database server’s performance.
  Backing up and restoring databases.
  Managing user access and security permissions.
  Handling database maintenance and updates.

System Administrator:

• Managing the server infrastructure where SQL Server is hosted.
  Ensuring server availability and scalability.
  Monitoring server resources (CPU, memory, disk space) and optimizing their usage.
  Installing patches and updates for the operating system and SQL Server.

Quality Assurance (QA) and Testing:

• Conducting testing to ensure that the application functions correctly with SQL Server.
  Identifying and reporting bugs or issues related to database interactions.
  Collaborating with developers to resolve database-related problems.

Project Manager:

• Planning and scheduling the development project.
  Managing , budgets, Resources and timelines.
  Monitoring progress and ensuring that the project stays on track.
  Communicating with stakeholders and reporting on project status.

Security Specialist:

• Ensuring data security by implementing security best practices.
  Conducting vulnerability assessments and addressing security risks.
  Staying updated on security threats and applying patches and updates.

Technical Experience :

A: Experience in SQL Server DTS and SSIS Integration Service package design, constructing, and deployment     Provide support to the business during day to day activities and ad-hoc requests

B: Good technical knowledge in MS SQL Server development including SSIS, SSRS

C: Experience in creating indexed views, complex stored procedures, effective triggers, and useful functions to     facilitate efficient data manipulation and consistent data storage

D: ETL implementation using SQL Server Integration Services SSIS.

SQL Programming:

Proficiency in writing SQL queries, including SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, and JOIN statements.
Understanding of SQL functions and procedures.

Database Design:

Knowledge of database design principles, including normalization and de-normalization.
Experience in creating and modifying database schemas and tables.
Understanding of indexing and data modeling.

SQL Server Management:

Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server management tools, such as SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
Ability to configure and maintain SQL Server instances and databases.

Data Integration:

Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data integration.
Knowledge of tools like SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for data movement.

Security:

Understanding of database security principles, including user authentication and authorization.
Knowledge of implementing security best practices to protect sensitive data.

Performance Optimization:

Proficiency in optimizing database performance, including query tuning.
Ability to monitor and analyze database performance using tools like SQL Server Profiler.

Backup and Recovery:

Experience in creating and managing database backups.
Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and execution.

Professional Attributes : Communicate and Interact effectively with all levels of staff, senior management, customers and senior management. Communicate effectively and clearly, in verbally and writing, in one on one and group presentation situations.
