IIT DHARWAD Summer Internship Program 2026

• The applicant must be a presently enrolled undergraduate or postgraduate student pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, humanities, or related disciplines from a recognized Indian institute or university.
• The applicant must have at least a CGPA of 6.5 or 65% in the latest completed semester, or in a previous semester if the current semester results have not yet been declared at the time of application.
• The applicant must be available full-time for a minimum of 1 or 2 months during the internship period at the IIT Dharwad campus in person.

1. Maximum duration of this Summer Internship is two (02) months. 

[between 11th May 2026 – 10th July 2026]

2. The minimum recommended internship period is one (01) month.

1. Applications must be submitted through the portal hosted at IIT DHARWAD website. 
2. Submission of the application is not allowed after the due date. 
3. Submitting an application is free. 
4. Please keep the documents below ready before submitting the application
   1. Recent Photograph
   2. Latest Resume
   3. Latest Marksheet
   4. Bonafide Certificate issued by your college/institute with the Principal/Institute’s head seal and signature 
5. Incomplete applications will not be considered.  

• There is no provision for stipend, travel assistance, or any form of financial support for selected interns.
• An internship certificate will be awarded to interns whose performance is rated as Excellent, Good, or Satisfactory by the faculty mentor.
• Interns whose performance is considered unsatisfactory by their respective faculty mentors may be discontinued and may not receive an internship certificate.

Accommodation

• Free accommodation and meals (through the hostel mess) will be provided by IIT Dharwad to all selected interns in the institute’s hostels, subject to availability.
• No extra charges, such as water or electricity, will be applied to the selected interns.

Selection Procedure 

• Applications will undergo an initial screening, followed by an online interview conducted by a faculty mentor from IIT Dharwad.
• Only selected candidates will be notified via email.
• No separate communication will be sent to applicants who are not selected.
• The decision of IIT Dharwad regarding the selection of eligible candidates will be final, and no further correspondence will be considered in this matter.
