Job overview RBI Summer Internship 2025
Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the Central Banking Authority of India, has announced its Summer Internship Program 2025. Through this prestigious internship, students can avail themselves of a deep immersion into the financial system of India, monetary policy, and economic management. RBI Summer Placement is for intellectually talented students pursuing postgraduate or integrated courses in Economics, Finance, Management, Statistics, Law, and other related fields. Selected trainees will be given real-time projects under the guidance of RBI experts, thereby contributing to ongoing research as well as policy formulation. Trainees get a unique experience of the functioning of the Central Bank of India and its vital role in maintaining economic stability.
Eligibility Criteria
The application for the RBI Summer Internship 2025 should be accompanied by the requirements hereunder by aspirants:
- Students must be in the final year of a postgraduate or five-year integrated course in Management, Statistics, Law, Commerce, Economics, Economics, or Finance.
- Moreover, full-time students of law for three years at recognized Indian universities are eligible as well.
- Indian citizens can only apply through the National Student Portal.
- Students should have a valid university authorization or a certificate of good conduct that should be uploaded along with the application.
- Non-Indian students admitted to foreign universities and majoring in finance, economics, or law may address applications to the RBI head office in Mumbai by post.
Key Responsibilities
During the internship, selected candidates will have the opportunity to:

Salary & Benefits
The RBI Summer Interns will be paid a stipend of ₹20,000 per month during the internship period (April–July 2026). Besides, an AC 2-tier return train fare will be reimbursed to the outstation students. Selection Process
- The selection process starts with eligibility and academic performance-based shortlisting.
- Interview letters will be sent to the shortlisted candidates in January–February 2026.
- Only around 125 candidates are selected each year for the Summer Internship Program.
- The result of the interview and educational qualification will decide the final selection.
Application Process of RBI Research Internship
- The application window is open from 15 October to 15 December 2025.
- On the web, candidates are required to submit the duly filled application form, the link for which is available on the RBI website.
- Provide a bona fide certificate from your college stating that you are a regular student.
- First, find out the RBI Control Office in which state your college is, and then the RBI Control Office only.
- If any candidate submits an incomplete/incorrect application/her application will not be considered.
Foreign Students:
Foreign students are to submit their applications only via post from 1 November to 31 December 2025 to:
- The Chief General Manager, HRMD (Training & Development Division), Reserve Bank of India, Central Office, Mumbai – 400001.
- Foreign students will be provided a position at the Central Office, Mumbai, from July to October 2026, and they will receive the same ₹20,000 stipend.
