Vacancies and Pay Scale – Constable (Driver)-Male in Delhi Police 

A total of 737 vacancies are available for the Constable (Driver)-Male post. The distribution of these vacancies across different categories is as follows:

The selected candidates will be placed at Pay Level-3, with a salary range of ₹21,700 to ₹69,100. The total gross monthly salary, including various allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA), is estimated to be between ₹40,000 and ₹45,000.

Eligibility Criteria – Constable (Driver)-Male in Delhi Police 

To be considered for the position, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Age Limit (as of 01.07.2025) 21-30 years
Educational Qualification 10+2 (Senior Secondary) from a recognized Board.
Driving License Valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) license on the closing date of application. Learner’s licenses will not be accepted.
Other Requirements Ability to drive heavy vehicles with confidence and knowledge of vehicle maintenance.

Age Relaxation is provided to candidates from specific categories as per government rules:

| Selection Process: A Multi-Stage Approach | – Constable (Driver)-Male in Delhi Police 

The recruitment process consists of four main stages:

1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE):

This is the first and most crucial stage. It is an objective-type, multiple-choice paper with 100 questions for 100 marks. The exam duration is 90 minutes.

Negative Marking: There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

2. Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT):

This stage is qualifying in nature. Candidates must clear the CBE to be shortlisted for this test. The standards are as follows:

Physical Measurements:

  • Height: Minimum 170 cm (with a 5 cm relaxation for certain categories like residents of hilly areas, ST candidates, and wards of Delhi Police personnel).
  • Chest: 81 cm (unexpanded) with a minimum 4 cm expansion (81-85 cm). Relaxation of 5 cm is available for specific categories.

3. Trade Test:

Candidates who qualify the PE&MT will proceed to the Trade Test, which is also qualifying. This test assesses practical driving skills and knowledge of vehicle maintenance.

4. Medical Examination:

The final stage involves a medical check-up to ensure that candidates are physically and medically fit for the job. Key medical standards include:

  • Vision: Better eye 6/6 without glasses; Worse eye 6/12 without glasses.
  • Color Blindness: Candidates must be free from color blindness.
  • Candidates must be in good health, free from any disease, defect, or deformity.

Final Selection

Constable (Driver)-Male in Delhi Police, The final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the Computer-Based Examination. The PE&MT, Trade Test, and Medical Examination are qualifying stages. The final list will be prepared based on merit in the CBE. In case of a tie in scores, the candidate with a higher age will be given preference. If the date of birth is also the same, alphabetical order of the first name will be used to resolve the tie. The SSC and Delhi Police have a strict policy against malpractices, and any candidate found engaging in unfair means will face severe penalties, including debarment from future examinations.
