Program Overview –IIT Gandhinagar Summer Research Internship 2026
The Summer Research Internship Program (SRIP) 2026 is a premier initiative of IIT Gandhinagar aimed at inviting talented and driven students from reputed institutions across India to experience research at IITGN. The program provides an excellent platform for undergraduate and master’s students to work on advanced and innovative research projects across various disciplines. Selected interns will be guided by distinguished IITGN faculty members and will have access to modern laboratories, advanced equipment, and research facilities available on campus. SRIP 2026 will be conducted in a fully offline mode, requiring students to stay on campus and actively engage with their faculty mentors through regular interactions, discussions, and hands-on research activities.
Provisions:- IIT Gandhinagar Summer Research Internship 2026 Weekly Stipend: ₹2,000 (Paid after successful completion). Hostel Accommodation: Provided to interns (applicable charges apply).
Eligibility & Requirements Who Can Apply? Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme at a recognised and reputed institution in India. Applications can be submitted based on the student’s academic interests and relevant prior experience. Students are allowed to apply for projects beyond their official degree specialisation, provided they have a genuine interest and suitable background knowledge. Program Requirements Selected applicants must carry out their internship under the guidance of an IITGN faculty mentor. Candidates should carefully review the list of participating faculty members and available project topics before submitting their application. At the end of the internship period, interns are required to deliver a presentation to the institute and submit a comprehensive project report summarising their work and outcomes.
SRIP Activities The SRIP program is designed to offer interns a complete and enriching experience that extends beyond regular lab work. Key activities include: Welcome Session: An orientation introducing students to the institute, faculty, and overall structure of the program. SRIP Lecture Series: Expert talks and research seminars by leading academicians and scientists. Research Proposal Development: Guidance on framing and refining research objectives and methodology. SRIP Diaries: Maintaining a record of learning progress, observations, and research experiences throughout the internship. Poster Presentation Session: Opportunity to present and showcase research findings to faculty and peers. Sports & Cultural Activities: Participation in campus events and activities to experience the vibrant IITGN student life.
